The ROER tool is used to provide a positive barrier to prevent channelling or cross-contamination between fluids during marine riser cleaning and displacement operations. The integral wiper assembly mechanically removes drilling fluid deposits from the riser wall while the sliding sleeve arrangement provides a large flow area to enable a high degree of control over fluid placement. The ROER is particularly suited to deep water applications where cold sea temperature means the formation and subsequent displacement of solids can be particularly problematic.
